Hi I'm Loren Marshall

I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. I am an "average Joe." I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married and together with my wife have three beautiful children. A brunette and two "orange heads." I am a chiropractor and run my own chiropractic clinic, I enjoy cycling, and tend to ride about 75 miles a week. I have participated in Triathlon events, but hate running. :) I am a fan of BYU sports. I also am a fan of the University of Texas, except when they play the Cougars.

Why I am a Mormon

Well first off, because it is true. :) I do not say that in a condescending or arrogant way, I speak it with humble firmness. Having been raised in an LDS household, I have had to make certain that what I proclaim to be true is just that for myself. I have knelt before my God and plead to know if this organization is His true and living church, and through a witness born to me through the fruits of the Holy Ghost I have come to a real and unmistakable knowledge that this church is the church of Jesus Christ, and that through the ordinances found therein and the authority to preform those ordinances man may be saved in the Kingdom of God. Not to simply live again, which is a wonderful blessing of the infinite atonement of Jesus Christ, but to live like Christ and his Father. I have seen the power of both righteousness and wickedness. I have seen priesthood authority command diabolic influence. I have witnessed sinners become saints and sadly saints become sinners. I have experienced the joyous fruit of the atonement. I have studied the words of the Bible, both the Old and New Testament. I have studied the words of the Book of Mormon and revelations given to the prophets of this dispensation and find that they are true and the means by with we can come to know God the Father, his son Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost. I now stand unashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I invite any who may read this brief and simply testimony that I have shared here, to seek truth. As you do so, you will be lead to understand that the Book of Mormon is true and goes hand in hand with the Holy Bible. You will see that God in the same yesterday, today and forever. You will see that he loves you and has devised the means necessary to save and redeem you.

How I live my faith

Nothing in life is more important to me than my God and my faith in Him and His son, Jesus Christ. I have enjoyed serving in the LDS Church in various positions. One of those positions was that of a full-time missionary. I labored as a Spanish speaking missionary in the Texas Dallas Mission of the Church. Currently I voluntarily serve as the "Young Men President" in the area in which I live. This means that I work with youth, ages 12-18. We discuss the truths taught by the Savior and his prophets. We enjoy recreation activities together, from wake boarding to basketball to geocaching or simply having a barbecue. Additionally we are involved heavily in the Boy Scouts of America, with the goal of helping each young man achieve the rank of "Eagle Scout." This allows us to camp, hike, and travel to wonderful places and see some of God's most beautiful creations. Within the church I also serve as a home teacher. The Lord has taught that we are suppose to watch after our brothers and sisters. Through home teaching I have gained wonderful friends and have be blessed to see the Lord's hand in the life of those who I serve through home teaching. I have see faith restored, sickness healed, stress and anxiety of financial matters resolved through the blessings of the Lord through home teaching. Above all I enjoy most the majestic opportunity that I have of weekly temple attendance. Within the scared walls of the temple saving ordinances are preformed by faithful members of the church for themselves first and then their kindred dead. To be able to receive these ordinances for myself is a great and eternal blessing. Now to stand in proxy for those members who did not have such an opportunity in their mortal sojourn, allows me to feel, in very small measure, that which our Savior did and will do for all of our Heavenly Father's children.
