Hi I'm Payden Alder

I was born and raised in small town in Idaho. I love skateboarding, mountain biking, playing the bass, and music. I am Mormon.

About Me

I'm Payden I am at this time preparing to serve and LDS mission in the Texas Houston Mission. I report in 15 days. I am currently living at home with my Mom, Dad, and Sister. Upon returning from my mission I will be attending college. Which when I get to that point I have no idea what I want to study, so I figure I will find out when I get there. I really enjoy music that is a big part of my life. Many of my friends have great musical talent which I greatly enjoy when watching them preform their musical abilities.I really enjoy the local music scene where i live and most forms of alternative and indie rock. I have been learning to play the bass and and the guitar a little these last few months before I leave. I also enjoy downhill skateboarding and downhill mountain biking. They have been great ways for me to get out side and meet new people, also they are just a ton of fun. Yep well that's me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Mormon faith both my father and my mother where also born and raised Mormon, so its been a big part of my family for a long time. I attended church with them every Sunday as a child, and now I also choose every Sunday to attend church on my own. I have never had a big event or turning point in my life that told me this is the true church. For me the truth came from obedience to the things I had been taught as a child. I had been taught what was expected of me from my parents very early in life, and they also taught me what God and Christ expected of me. I have at time deviated from these expectations and still do at times, and daily I'm sure I disappoint Christ in some manner (Its a good thing he is very forgiving). But I have noticed a trend in my life that the more closely I follow the commandments of God I have been taught the more happy I am. Also I have learned the more I stray from these things the less happy I am. In my mind only truth can bring happiness, but more so than happiness only truth can bring continual happiness, a peace, and a surety of the things which you are doing. As I follow the commandments I have been taught I feel no doubt in what I am doing, or in who I am. I don't feel doubt in my decision when I know that in my decision I have pleased Christ. This one thing obedience to Gods laws has made manifest the truthfulness of all things regarding this church to me. This is why I am Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have held a few leadership positions in my church as a youth and as a young adult. In these positions I have had to help plan and organize activities, help with records for the church, and many other things. I am currently getting ready to serve a full time LDS mission for two years. During this time I will be proselyting and trying to share the gospel of Jesus Christ our savoir with others who have not had heard it. This is something I have chosen and am excited to do.
