Hi I'm David Belnap

I want to become a pediatric anesthesiologist. I love color guard. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Ponca City, OK, but moved to South Jordan, UT when I was little. I grew up in a family of 5: my parents, older brother, and younger sister. I'll love them forever and they have truly helped make me the person I am today. I worked as a CNA before my mission and I LOVED my job! I enjoyed it because it further taught me patience, respect, gratitude, and many other positive qualities that will help me throughout my life. I grew up playing a lot of competitive sports: football, soccer, hockey, basketball, tennis, baseball, etc. I always had a passion for them; however, my passion for color guard was far greater. During my freshman year of high school, one of my best friends introduced me to the activity and I instantly fell in love with it. I've had more desire for this sport than any other and it has become a part of my life that will last forever. During the 2014 summer, I was able to be a member of the Santa Clara Vanguard, a World Class Drum and Bugle Corps. The experience was a dream come true being able to practice 8-12 hours everyday for 3 months with people sharing the same desire and passion. I will be serving my mission in the Japan Tokyo South Mission (Dec 2014-2016). When I return from my mission, I plan to attend BYU-Provo to major in Chemical Engineering. After I receive my undergraduate, I plan to attend medical school in order to eventually become a pediatric anesthesiologist at Primary Children's Medical Center.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, but I'm a Mormon because I have learned for myself that its teachings are true. I'm a Mormon because I know I don't have to be perfect, but only have to do my best. I'm a Mormon because I love the peace and joy it gives me. I'm a Mormon because I know that I am sealed to my family for eternity and that I can be sealed to my future spouse and children in one of God's holy temples. I'm a Mormon because I know who I am, why I am here on earth, and where I am going after I die. I'm a Mormon because I know the Book of Mormon is a true book and is another witness of Jesus Christ, along with the Bible. I'm a Mormon because I know that the Book of Mormon can give us guidance and direction in our daily lives. I'm a Mormon because I know that the modern-day prophet and other church leaders receive direct revelation from God specifically for us (God's children). I'm a Mormon because I know I can pray to my Heavenly Father every day and have a relationship with Him. I'm a Mormon because I know can receive personal revelation to help me with choices and decisions in my life. I'm a Mormon because I know that God lives. I'm a Mormon because I know that He loves us all equally and individually. I'm a Mormon because I know that because He loves me, He sent His son Jesus Christ to suffer for my sins (and all mankind's) and carry out the infinite Atonement. I'm a Mormon because I know Jesus Christ was resurrected and that He lives and helps lead His church today. I'm a Mormon because I know Joseph Smith was a chosen prophet of God to restore the same gospel (presently) that Jesus Christ established centuries ago. I'm a Mormon because I know that the Devil and temptation are real and that the Holy Ghost can give us strength and protection. I'm a Mormon because I know that the Gospel can change your life. I'm a Mormon because I have felt the Holy Spirit confirm to me that it is true, and I cannot deny it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to always keep the Commandments. In turn, I live my faith by constantly trying to improve. I have learned that the Atonement is not all about repentance and becoming clean, but also constant change, progress, and re-commitment -- becoming the best we can be.
