Hi I'm Alyson

Hi, i'm alyson! :) I love the color yellow, reading inspirational books, serving others, swimming and traveling!

About Me

Hi, my name is Alyson. I am a current student at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah studying Dental Hygiene. I love to participate with Y-serve, a community service club of BYU. I was born and raised in a small town in Tennessee. Students here say I have a southern accent but I have to disagree ha ha. :) My favorite color is yellow. I love going out with the missionaries and plan on serving a mission when I turn 19. I love to play any sports but especially enjoy cross country, volleyball, and ping pong. My unique hobbies include: cleaning, free-running, planning events, and being a leader.

Why I am a Mormon

I know this gospel is true and have seen the many ways in which it has blessed my life. My favorite primary song is "Keep the Commandments". When we obey them, we are blessed with safety and peace. I am so grateful to have had the standards in the For Strength of Youth to keep me guided through my years in high school! I am grateful for the power of prayer and know that he is always there listening to me. I love my family and am thankful that this gospel gives us so much to look forward to in being with our families forever. :) I am a mormon because I know and have felt Heavenly Fathers love for me by obeying his commandments.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being a missionary and representative for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Back in Tennessee, I served as church missionary with the sister missionaries in my home ward. It was a great experience to dedicate time each week to go serve and teach people with the sister missionaries.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Alyson
Young Men ages eighteen and older are called and expected to serve full time missions. Women are not expected to serve, but are welcome to serve and contribute to the hastening of his work. Women are advised to council with their parents, bishop, but especially the Lord. Their decision to serve is very much appreciated. :) Show more Show less
