Hi I'm Judy

I am a wife, mom, grandma and friend who loves spending time with her family and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in a small Utah town. I met my husband in high school and we were high school sweethearts. After a year of college my husband served a two year mission for our church and I lived at home and worked as a bank teller. After his mission my husband and I were married in the temple. After my husband graduated from college we built our first home in our home town. One year later we had a job opportunity to move from Utah to Southern Florida with our two young daughters. What an adventure that was! It was the first time I had ever lived outside of Utah and away from my family. It was a growing and learning experience and brought our little family closer. After two years we had another job opportunity in Southern New Hampshire. We once again set off on an adventure with our two little girls. This was also a wonderful experience for us. I learned that there are good people everywhere and made many lovely friends. After living in New Hampshire for two years and adding a son to our family we once again had a job opportunity. This time it was to move back to Utah! We loved our time in New Hampshire but missed our families very much. We took the opportunity and were soon settled once again in Utah near family. We love to be together as a family playing games and just visiting. We now have four adult children and one teenage son still at home. We have eight wonderful grandchildren who we love so much. Being a mom and grandma is the best! I love my life!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love my family and want to be with them forever. I was raised as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon). My family was always active in the church and we attended every Sunday. My parents taught us the gospel in our home and were always good examples of followers of Jesus. When I was nine years old my baby brother was born. He was born early and his lungs were not developed. The doctor told my parents that he might not live. I remember my dad coming home from the hospital and explaining to my three sisters and i what was going on. He was very emotional as he tenderly told us that we had a new baby brother but he might not be able to come home and live with us. He reminded us that we were an eternal family because he and my mother had been married in the temple and sealed not just for time but for all eternity. This meant that children born to them were also sealed to them eternally. I knew that what he said was true. I felt a warm feeling in my heart and knew that whatever happened we would one day all be together. This testimony of eternal family is so important to me. My brother did get to come home and grow up with us. Four big sisters and one younger sister. He was mothered and loved to pieces! Living the gospel and keeping the commandments makes me happy! By living the commandments we are protected from many of the evils of the world. This brings greater freedom and happiness. While raising our children keeping them physically safe and healthy was always a worry and important to me. Raising them in the church has helped to keep them spiritually safe and well. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I know that He loves me and wants me to return to Heavenly Father. I know he loves each one of us and that because of this love through the atonement it is possible to be together with our families forever.

How I live my faith

I enjoy using my talents to serve others. I think that is why I love being a wife and mother. I have been blessed with the opportunity to be a stay at home mom and I enjoy taking care of our home, cooking, cleaning, gardening and just trying to make our home a nice place to be. Being a mother has got to be the hardest job there is. Sometimes I don't feel very appreciated and sometimes I don't feel very important in the worlds eyes but I know I am doing the most important work there is and when my teenager gives me a hug and tells me he loves me it's all worth it. I have enjoyed volunteering in the community by helping at a local hospital. I loved the sweet older people who volunteered there. Right now I am volunteering with my son at our local Math Center. We help children with their math homework and math in general. After having five children and now being down to just one at home I have found that I need to look for opportunities to serve more outside my home. It makes me happy to help other people. I enjoy music and playing the piano and I serve as the choir director in my church. It has been a stretch for me because it's something that I have never done before. I do enjoy it even though it scares me! I love what music can add to your life and I am happy to share that with others.
