Hi I'm Kasey

I'm from Maryland. I'm studying manufacturing engineering. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm studying manufacturing engineering technology at Brigham Young University. I love using my hands to build, machine, or organize. I work in IT and enjoy learning about how information can be used to make life better. I've played soccer in Scotland. I lived in France/Belgium for two years. I run thru canyons when I have free time. I bike up mountains on the weekends. When near water I love swimming and water skiing if I have the chance. I love being outside and hanging out with my wife.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was growing up my family didn't go to church often. In my junior year of high school some friends and one in particular started asking a lot of questions and asking the difference between my beliefs and hers. Frankly I had no idea how to answer her because I think she knew more about my church than I did. Together we went to both of our churches. Eventually we were going to mine frequently and this helped with my family coming more and more often. I started to learn many answers to my friend's questions and to questions of my own that I didn't know that I had. Eventually I wiped off my dusty Book of Mormon that was hidden in my bookshelf and started to read. It was in Helaman 14 (https://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/hel/14?lang=eng) that I felt the answer I had been waiting for; was the true Gospel found through the LDS church. I knew that it was and I've been learning every since. About 2 years later, I left on an LDS mission to Belgium and France which only furthered my conviction that I had gained while reading the Book of Mormon for the first time 2 years earlier. The Gospel has taught me so much about Jesus Christ and the magnitude of His love. The knowledge I have and continue to grow means the most to me. I love to teach the Gospel to friends, family, youth, and neighbors. My life has been blessed, my marriage has been blessed, and I know that I can bless others because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I enjoy humanitarian projects. My best friend and I, once collected a huge amount of sports equipment that we sent down to Haiti when his father went there on a medical trip. I teach and mentor youth in church and in technology projects. I try to offer help whenever I can whether it's fixing a bike, babysitting, or watching someones house and pet. I live my faith mostly through service because that's how my parents always lived theirs and I believe that touches others the most.
