Hi I'm Anna

I'm from Ohio. I love music and learning. I'm studying Integrated Life Science Education. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to listen to and play music. I play piano, organ, flute, guitar, and ukulele. I enjoy writing stories and taking pictures of my family. I love to draw, but I'm not particularly talented when it comes to realistic drawing. I'm going to college to become a high-school Biology teacher. I'm a Sophomore this year. I love it so much. Last year, I had been Biology Pre-Med student. However, I didn't like the feel of the program, so I switched majors. Because of that, I have spent the last six months praying to find out where I needed to direct my studies. Also, during my Freshman year, I went through three sets of roommates. I had a hard time finding anyone who shared similar values. I have severe asthma. So, when my roommate decided to smoke an illegal drug while I was sleeping, I was almost hospitalized. Because of this entire experience, I am now learning to use my testimony and the teachings of the Church to keep my anxiety in check and my lifestyle balanced and happy.

Why I am a Mormon

I know this Church is true because I feel it in my heart when I listen to the testimonies and lessons in church. I know that Heavenly Father loves me and knows my problems. When I've been feeling forgotten and alone, even though I've been a member all my life, He'll send the missionaries my way asking if they can do anything to help me. Also, He has given me a visiting teacher who takes the time out of her busy schedule to ask me how I am and about my week. I'm new to my area and having a friend this close so quickly is such a blessing. I know that He hears and answers our prayers. When I have worried about my mother, because she lives a few hours away from me, my prayers of concern are answered with Facebook posts of the food that the sisters in my home ward are taking to my family while my mother is sick. I know Joseph Smith was a true Prophet. I know that he translated the Book of Mormon under the instruction of the Lord. I am thankful for all that he went through to bring our Church into existence today. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a true Prophet. I love the talks he gives. Sometimes, it feels like he knows that I, Anna, am listening to him at that moment. This is because he relies on the influence of the Holy Ghost to help share all that members around the world might need to hear. I say these things, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I teach the women in our Branch once a month. I love teaching so much. I love when my fellow sisters participate and tell me about all the challenges they've encountered; this makes me feel less alone. I play the organ and piano for the meetings as well as help coordinate between church leaders and members for our bible study.
