Hi I'm Grace Johnson

I grew up in a lovely valley and love playing flute and hiking the mountains. I am happy and excited for life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a very excited and passionate learner. I feel such a am a sophomore in college and am very excited to be studying a major in Child Development with a minor in Music. I want to use my education to nurture, protect and heal children and educate parents. I love making music and really enjoy playing the flute. I love teaching flute lessons and hope to be able to do so throughout my life. I love my family so much! I am the oldest in my family and the only sister to two very lively wonderful brothers. Growing up I loved going on long walks with them and my mother while my dad was working. We would make up silly games and Mom would either create stories to tell us or read books to us. Our favorites were the Harry Potter series and a children's book series called The Guardians of Ga'Hoole. This inspired a great love for reading and writing in me from a young age. Whenever I feel stressed and overwhelmed with life always find great peace and happiness from snuggling up with a good book.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have found my Savior in this Church. I have prayed to my Heavenly Father to know if this was the Church of my Savior Jesus Christ, the same Gospel that my Savior established while He was here on the earth, and I have received my answer: Yes. The harder life gets, the more I know this Church is my Savior's. The more questions, blessings and struggles I have, the more I seek out my Savior and the closer I draw to Him and feel Him and come to know Him. As I have come to better know and love my Savior and His character, I have found Him in this Church. The more sorrow, loss, pain and struggles I experience, the more questions that ache within me for an answer, the more comfort, fulfillment, healing and strength and joy I find in this Church in my Savior Jesus Christ. I hear His voice in that of the modern day prophets through whom He leads this Church, just as He has always lead His people through prophets, such as Adam, Noah, Abraham and Moses. I have found and recognized His teachings in the Book of Mormon. I have prayed to know if it was the word of God, a testament of my Savior Jesus Christ, and I have felt a gentle, beautiful feeling fill my soul that it truly is holy scripture. As I have read and studied the Book of Mormon, I have drawn closer to my Savior Jesus Christ than I ever thought was possible and He has truly become my best friend. I have found peace, comfort and happiness in my baptismal covenants and the other covenants I have made with my Savior and great joy in attending church each week. I am a Mormon because I love my Savior Christ with all of my heart. My knowledge of Him and relationship with Him is the most sacred and precious thing in my life. I have found my Savior and have come unto Him and learned of Him through the Book of Mormon and the teachings of the Modern day prophets. Joseph Smith was called as a prophet of God. The Book of Mormon is the word of God. This is Christ's Church. I know it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to act as my Savior Jesus Christ would and by sharing my love and knowledge of Him. One of the main things that I do to live my faith and share that faith is through music. From the time I was a little girl, I would go to nursing homes with my mother, or to visit the elderly within our community and church, and play my flute for them. I have continued doing this as I have grown and have a great love for serving others through music to help bring them peace, comfort and joy, and help them feel and know of God's love for them. I try my hardest to look for people to serve and to build their confidence in themselves with my words. I look for the strengths in those around me and pray to be able to express them to those I meet. I live my faith by reading my scriptures and praying and then acting on those things.
