Hi I'm Armani Martinez

As a military kid I've lived all over the place! The places are different but the church is the same!

About Me

A little about me: I am the oldest child in my family, I love sports, especially soccer and anything to do with the outdoors. I love reading and read often. I like to dance and learn new dances. I love learning about others cultures and religions. I am a student at Brigham Young University-Idaho and I love it there. I am part of a military family so I have moved often, living in many states all over the country and out of the country in Germany and now my family is in Italy. I left for Rancho Cucamonga to serve for 18 months as a missionary and it is the best thing I could be doing right now.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a testimony of the gospel that we have the fullness of in this church. I have seen the gospel work in peoples lives and make it incredibly better. I love that I know the reason why I am here, that it is to return to my Father in Heaven and that He has a plan for all of us. I know where I have come from and where I can go after death. I have the opportunity to be with my family forever and this is an amazing gift. Families are such an important factor in the church and in the church everything points to those things that will bring us closer to them. I know my Father in Heaven is real, and that He has a son, Jesus Christ who died for us on the cross. I know that Christ is our Savior and Redeemer, that He paid the ultimate price for us. He and the Father, know us individually and want us to have every happiness possible. I know this to be the true church that is led by a Living Prophet, President Thomas S. Monson. I have felt the Holy Spirit, in meetings, while reading the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I know the book to be the truest book on this Earth. And because I know these things, through the Church, that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith through the callings the church has given me. I have held a number of callings of a wide variety. I have most recently been called to serve a mission, so for the next 18 months I am serving as a full-time missionary. To prepare myself for this, I had been reading the scriptures daily and familiarizing myself with them to be able to accurately teach the principles and invite the spirit in my life. In a previous calling, I had the awesome experience of being able to teach a class in my ward referred to as "Gospel Principles" or "Gospel Essentials". Here I was able to be taught by the great spirits of the members of my class as well as teach them what I had learned by preparing the lesson during the week. In this class, it is made of new converts, investigators, ward missionaries, and the full-time missionaries serving in our ward. This class helped me learn the basics in the best way for me to teach it to others. I know that in order to have power to teach I have to live those principles of the gospel. Practice what you preach!
