Hi I'm Tia

I grew up in the small town of Elsinore, Utah. my hobby of gardening, and I love to do almost anything outdoors.

About Me

I'm currently serving a full mission, in the Virginia Chesapeake mission. I Love serving people and helping others come closer to Jesus Christ. Life can get a bit busy as a missionary and really stressful but it is the best decision that I have ever made.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I had parents who brought me to church every Sunday, if they had decided not to go every week I might not be where I am today. For a long time in my youth I only fallowed my parents to church every week, and I didn't really believe in the church. As I continued to go each week I felt like I didn't really fit in, some days I would pretend that I was sick so I wouldn't have to go, but then one year word boundaries changed and I found myself with a new young women's leader. She was in charge of bringing the girls of our new word together, so we could have friend ships that would last forever. Each Sunday she would try to teach our lessons in a way that we could enjoy, and even though it was her first time teaching lessons to teenage girls she got us all to really listen to her. As the year went by I found myself actually enjoying myself when I went to church, I would look forward to mutual every Tuesday night, and I even got my sister more excited to go with me too. I look back at that area change and I'm really happy that it was change because if it wasn't I would have never gained my own testimony. I am so grateful for my parents and their example, I am a Mormon because I believe that this is Christ's restored church once again to the Earth through living prophets, I know this to be true because I have found the answers for my self by first desiring to know if it was true, studding, and praying about if this is Christ's church. Now everyday I am reminded of my faith, as I serve my mission, and those I meet question everything I believe in, but I will not be shaken. Just as Jacob in the Book of Mormon was not shaken when his faith was questioned (Jacob 7:3-5).

How I live my faith

In high school we had a dress code, but the kids always found different ways to bend the rules, I liked to be unique and modest by not wearing anything that brought unwanted looks or thoughts from a young man. I attended Seminary every day, I had some friends who liked to skip this class because they wouldn't be punished for it, this made it hard for me to want to continue going, but I could get myself to leave because I love the atmosphere we had in class every day. I'm glad I made the choice of going each day, and that I chose to not go with the crowd. I now live my faith by being a missionary and teaching other about what I believe, as I bear my testimony often I find my faith growing as I do so. I know that what I have to share is something that will bring everyone peace.
