Hi I'm Stephen Anderson

I am a convert and grew up in Southern California. I went to BYU where I met my wife. I love the outdoors and humanitarian work.

About Me

I went to BYU and found my wife there. We have 4 grown children. I work at Church Headquarters in the Family History Department as the department blogger. I enjoy doing writing, outdoor activities, gardening and am PASSIONATE about doing humanitarian work. I love helping other people get involved in various humanitarian projects. We have so much while so many throughout the world have so little. Let's see what we can do to use what we have to lift the burdens of those that have so little. I am always open for new ideas about effective ways to make life better for other people. One of the things I love to do is work on my bucket list. My bucket list has been the source of so many amazing experiences. On a few occasions I've gotten in over my head but hey, I'm still alive and so far, I haven't lost any body parts, so life is good.

Why I am a Mormon

When the missionaries were teaching me the gospel, I was impressed about all they were teaching me, but not enough to change my previous religious beliefs. But when they taught me about the Plan of Salvation everything changed. I immediately recognized and remembered what they were teaching me. I knew that I had heard this before. My mind was opened up and I knew these were messengers from God. That night I knew that I wanted to be member of this church. The rest is history.

How I live my faith

I think the biggest focus of my life has been doing family history research and temple work. My wife and I are both converts so we have a LOT of ancestors to find and to redeem, but love doing this work. Along with doing the family history research, I enjoy gathering the stories of our ancestors along with photos. My intent is to create and preserve their stories for their posterity. After all, you cannot love someone you do not know, right? My favorite book of scripture is the Book of Mormon. It's so focused on our time and day. Got a question or a problem? Go to the Book of Mormon because the answer is there. You just have to look. When it comes to living my religion, I feel that the best way to share what I believe in is to let people see my actions. "By their actions you will know them." I love Christ. I try my best to live so that when I see him, I can come to him and I can hear him say, "Well done my good and faithful servant."
