Hi I'm Mark

I'm a teacher. I'm a husband. I'm a father. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've lived in the UK my whole life but have been able to travel a little and see some of the beautiful places in the world. It's amazing how many good people there are out there. My job has allowed me to experience some of these things and has fostered in me a deeper appreciation of different cultures and the way that people deal with life's challenges. I'm married with 5 kids and love to spend time with my family, plenty of time on the coast and lots of happy memories to bring back.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a good family. My mom and dad never took us to church but I can remember being a young child and talking to my mom about God. I've always believed in God but didn't know about the church until I was 18 years old. A friend of mine was contacted by some missionaries and he decided to join the church. After his conversion he took the time to tell me about the church and what he believed. I asked lots of questions and everything I heard made perfect sense and shortly after that I was baptised. Since that time I have never looked back and never regretted my decision. I've had time to study the scriptures and to gain a greater understanding of what happened before this life, why we're here on earth and what will happen after this life. I know that Heavenly Father lives and that He loves us. I know that Jesus Christ is His Son and that he is our Saviour and Redeemer. I've read the Bible and the Book of Mormon, another testament of Jesus Christ translated from ancient writings by a modern prophet, Joseph Smith, and through sincere prayer have come to know of their truthfulness.

How I live my faith

In my current capacity in the church I have the privilege of working with other church leaders from several different congregations in my area. We work together to strengthen our people and to encourage participation in church activity and service in the community. Over the years I've been involved in nearly every aspect of church life. I've learned a lot about myself and others and gained a greater perspective on the really important things in life.
