Hi I'm Mike

I'm a proud Colorado native. I love snowboarding, music, and spending time with family. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

The two most important things in my life are the gospel of Jesus Christ and my family. I am currently preparing to serve a mission in Italy, and I am totally psyched! I love every opportunity to get together with family, and I love seeing my little nieces and nephews as they grow and learn. I am looking forward to starting my own family some day. I enjoy snowboarding. I was scared to even start down the slopes my first time, but now that I've gained more experience there's no better way to spend my winters. I enjoy creating. I like art and music, and I like to build things. My most recent project was building a mountain board from scratch. I designed and started building it as a high school project and finished it on my own later. I also enjoy languages. I took Spanish all four years of high school and, along with my English classes, they were my favorite. I like reading and writing. I'm looking forward to learning Italian, and I would like to learn other languages including French and Russian.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon all of my life. As I began really preparing to serve a mission, however, I realized I wasn't sure if I could go out and tell people that I knew that the message I would be sharing was true. I began to question and contemplate, and I began to think about myself and experiences I have had. As I thought, I remembered experiences that I have had, even as a kid, that have helped me to know that God and Jesus Christ live. They are real, loving beings with whom we lived before we were born, and with whom we can live again along with our families. I researched other churches and their teachings and could find none that believed or taught these truths. During this time I also had an experience when the Holy Ghost witnessed to me that Joseph Smith was called, by God, as His prophet to restore His authority to the Earth. I know for myself that, through personal witnesses from the Holy Ghost, that these things are true. And that is why I am a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I try to study God's teachings every day. I try to improve myself and come closer to Him each day. I try to view people as children of God, which we all are, and treat them with the love and respect that Jesus did - the love and respect God has commanded us all to give. I try to always remember and love God, and do the things that I know He would want me to.
