Hi I'm Jake Meyer

I was born and raised in Soldotna, Alaska, and I love it. I love the out doors, and was born for the snow. I am a Mormom.

About Me

I was born in Alaska and was made for playing in the snow. I enjoy snowboarding, snowmachining, wakeboarding, and every other thing that gets my blood pumping. I am currently in the MTC as a missionary to represent Jesus Christ in the Chihuahua Mexico mission. Ive experienced many things throughout my life. I was born into a bit of an extreme family. We were bred to be adrenaline junkies. We never had tv or videogames in the house, but my brothers and I would rather go outside and play in the woods behind our house. I have an older sister, an older brother, and a younger brother. I honestly believe I was blessed with the best family in the entire world. My parents are the greatest. I love them so much. Ever since I was a child, my dad would take us all over. As I grew up, we started getting a little more comfortable with snowboarding and snowmachining. We started throwing ourselves over cliffs and other exciting stuff. I have been in an avalanche, ripped my face in half and have been knocked out several times. Most people think we are a bit dumb, but I believe god made me this way, and we should live life to the fullest. Throughout my life I have come to understand my reliance on Heavenly Father. Without him, I cannot succeed.

Why I am a Mormon

Conversion is not a moment or a single experience. Conversion is a process and I am still being converted. I learn things every day. We are all either progressing to be closer to God or are becoming more distanced. Coming from Alaska, there is just a small number of members. It was tough to be one of 3 mormons in my highschool. The only regrets i have is not sharing the gospel with my friends. This gospel is not just for a specific breed of people. It is for everyone! Everyone needs christ in their lives and his atonement to be the cleansing power in order to return and live with God agian. I know that God lives and loves us more than we could ever know. Joseph Smith restored Christs church upon the earth today. It is True.

How I live my faith

I was born in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I cannot imagine a greater blessing. I have always strived to keep the commandment and to e the best that i can possibly be. I love the Lord with all my heart and am so excited to serve him for the next two years. I am grateful for this opportunity to serve and I understand the importance of this calling. I am an eagle scout, I was the deacons and teachers quorum president, and served as the first counselor to the president in the priest quorum. I tried hard to be a good hometeacher, bu often was rejected due to busy lives. I know that I can always be a better person and I am far from perfect. I have had my trials and struggles, but I have found that I rely on christ, I can make it. I try to keep an Eternal perspective and to keep my eternal goals in mind. Life is more than just having fun. Our experience on earth is just a blink of an eye when it comes to eternity.
