Hi I'm Christi Arce

I am from Albuquerque, New Mexico and am the second oldest of seven. I am a recent convert to the church.

About Me

I am currently a sophomore in college, however, my major is undecided. I love to play the guitar and be surrounded by music. I enjoy going on relaxing walks and runs and I also have a passion for baking. Being around kids is one thing I adore and I am very excited to someday be a mom and have a family of my own.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was about sixteen I was introduced to the church by a dear friend. My family and I were all very much against the church, however, I knew I needed something more in my life. I began talking to the missionaries in my area and was doing everything I could to prove what they told me to be wrong. I started reading the Book of Mormon and instantly was filled with the Holy Spirit, which testified to me the truthfulness of the gospel. I agreed to be baptized when I was seventeen, however, my parents would not give me the consent I needed. I decided to wait until I turned eighteen years old. Although this year of waiting was tough, I knew that Heavenly Father loved me and wanted what was best for me, so I continued to prepare for my baptism. Satan did work very hard on me, but the Spirit testified of its truthfulness and I could not deny that this was what I needed to do. It has almost been a year since I was baptized and confirmed a member of the church and I will forever be grateful for that day. My family is still against the church but I do believe that their hearts will be softened and the Holy Spirit will testify the truth to them as well. I continue to follow His gospel because it brings me so much joy and I constantly have the amazing Holy Ghost with me at all times. I know that this is the true church here on earth. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know that our Heavenly Father loves us and wants whats best for us. I know that the Spirit testifies the truth and if we pray with a sincere heart to know if these things are true, the Spirit will guide us and give us the true answer. I know that with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, anything is possible.

How I live my faith

At church, I am currently teaching four year olds and working with them to learn and gain a strong testimony in the gospel. I love this opportunity I have to serve because it has strengthened my testimony and fills me with such joy each Sunday. I also work with young single adults who were once active in the church and I try and help them to come back to receive the blessings The Lord has for them. This has been such a blessing in my life as I've been able to see first hand the gospel change peoples lives.
