Hi I'm Drake

I love music, sports and people. I've lived in a couple cool places. I'm an entrepreneur and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I love sports. Varsity Soccer and Rugby for me. I also really enjoy Rock Climbing and Golf. Music is also a passion. I play the cello and I am teaching myself how to play the guitar now. I speak French and a little Mandarin Chinese. I love traveling. I've lived in France, Czech Republic, China, and the United State. I've also traveled most of Europe, a little Central America and some parts of Asia. I'm also Eagle Scout! I painted an orphanage in Northern China for my project. I want to study Entrepreneurship in college and then start a non-profit organization. I really love people. You know how people have cool different talents that make them special. Well mine is being good with people. I take pride in the fact that I can help people feel comfortable in any situation. I also immensely enjoy reading and taking pictures. I also take pride in the fact that I can cut my own hair! I like to write, sometimes, I want to write a book someday. Altogether I'm a pretty average guy, but what I think sets me apart is that I am a mormon and people can tell.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me the best person I can be. I use Jesus Christ as my example on how to treat people. With love, kindness and respect. Everyone deserves to be loved, and when I remember that everyone is a child of God it becomes that much more important to treat everyone I come in contact with the love and respect they deserve. I'll be honest, I'm an addict. I'm addicted to that feeling that you get every time you do or say something kind to someone else. That little warm fuzzy feeling that just makes you smile, the one that helps lighten your mood no matter what the circumstances are. I can't get enough of it. The strange thing is I feel it pretty often. Not because I'm constantly doing kind things, though I try to. It's because following the guidelines set by the church gives me that warm fuzzy feeling. That happy feeling. Because that's all they really are. Guidelines to make you happy. And who doesn't want to be happy? I've found that every commandment has a reason, whether I can see them immediately or if it takes time to understand. Following the Word of Wisdom keeps me healthy and in peak physical shape. Which is how God wanted me to experience this life. The Gospel can help me be happy and healthy, and also hopeful. Hopeful because I know that no matter what happens to me, I will be with my family. Hopeful that it can always get better, because Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are always watching and caring for me. I am a Mormon because the Gospel shows me how to be loving and kind, happy, healthy and hopeful. But most importantly I am a Mormon because I choose to be.

How I live my faith

I was recently called as the Gospel Doctrine class teacher. Which means that I am teaching the sunday school for all the adults in my branch. It's an interesting calling seeing I'm the youngest there. Also occasionally I will be a substitute for Seminary in my branch. Which is early morning scripture study class for kids in High School. I am also a Home Teacher with my father as my companion. We visit with a family in our branch once a month and ask them if they need our help with anything and we leave a spiritual message with them. In one month I will go on a mission to Benin Africa. I will be there for two years serving the people and sharing the gospel with them.
