Hi I'm Erik

I am from Utah. I am an eagle scout and have been called to serve my mission in Brasilia Brazil. I love sports. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Sports are huge part of my life. I have played sports all the way from little league football and T-ball to Varsity Football and Track in High School and now Track at Southern Utah University where I am now attending for college. I also love to be outdoors. I love hiking, canoeing, fishing, and camping. As a young man I was huge into scouting and achieved the rank of an Eagle Scout. I have received my mission call and am headed to Brasilia Brazil after I finish up a fall semester at SUU. I hope to become a Pediatrician when I am older and work around kids everyday and put a smile on their face. I love the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints because I know for my self of its truthfulness. This church brings so much happiness to me and those around me. In times where I feel uncertain or have doubts and need guidance I am able to ask my Heavenly Father for help and I know with all my heart he will answer me. I have a testimony of the atonement of Jesus Christ. That Heavenly Father sent his Only Begotten Son to suffer for our sins and die on the cross so that we can repent of our sins and be forgiven and when we die that we may return to him. Because of the Atonement I will be able to live with my family for all of time and eternity. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the true and living prophet on the earth today and that he receives revelation from God on how to run the church. I know the Book of Mormon is the most correct book on earth and that it is the word of god. I also know that Joseph Smith was a prophet called of God and that as a young man he saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in the sacred grove. I know that he restored the church onto the earth today and that he translated the Book of Mormon. I know that the priesthood is the greatest power on earth and that if I live worthily and have it given to me by someone with the authority I have the power to act in gods name. I know that through the priesthood miracles can happen people who are sick or afflicted can be healed and peace can be brought to those who are going through trials in their lives. I know this is the true church and I would not be where I am or the person I am without the gospel in my life. It brings me the greatest joy and I know that everyone can feel that same joy if they are willing to hear and accept the word of god. In the name of Jesus Christ amen.

How I live my faith

I love this church. I have been a part of the church ever since I was born and try my best to live it everyday of my life. As i've grown up in the church I've had lots of opportunities to demonstrate how I live my faith. In my home ward I served as the president of my young men groups and eventually the first assistant to the bishop. While working in these positions i have been able to live my faith by helping those in need from shoveling driveways of the older members in our ward to being a friend of a young man or woman who needs one. Currently in my young single adults ward I am in charge of preparing the sacrament for the ward so that people may renew the covenants they made with God at baptism. In January I will have the opportunity to live my faith for two whole years. I have been called as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints to serve in the Brasilia Brazil Mission. I will have the amazing opportunity to bring the same happiness that I have in my life to the people of Brazil who need the Lords guidance.
