Hi I'm Terra

I love music and a life full of adventure and laughter. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Freshman in college and I love to paint, snow ski, play the guitar and wake-surf. I am thinking of going into pre-med because I want to be able to directly help and heal people. My crazy family has kept me busy and entertained! I have 2 older siblings and 4 younger ones. My 3 youngest siblings were adopted from Haiti in March 2013 which was a miracle that changed my family a lot. I enjoy traveling and volunteering on service trips. Being within a different culture fascinates me and I hope to be able to continue seeing the world as I grow older.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of this church but only recently discovered my true testimony and the strength behind my beliefs. It was after I decided to serve a full-time mission for this church that I learned about the true meaning of the Atonement of Christ. I was taught all my life that the Atonement has healing powers of repentance and that you can be forgiven for all of your sins. This always seemed amazing to me, the fact that I don't have to carry the burden of my transgressions if I truly humble myself through God. However, during my senior year of High School, I learned something even more beautiful. Christ didn't just suffer for all the sins of the world, He took upon Himself all of the sorrows and pains and afflictions that everyone feels in this life. He understands us perfectly. When I discovered this, I felt the Spirit so strongly, testifying to me of its eternal truth. I began to pray more sincerely, knowing that Christ feels everything I am going through. I grew stronger and happier, always keeping an eternal perspective. My purpose in life became so much more clear. I started searching for answers in the Book of Mormon and the Bible and found out for myself how true both of those books are. I am a Mormon because I feel the comfort that comes with reading the scriptures and following His path. By keeping the standards of the Lord I have truly been blessed and am grateful for being able to have the Spirit reside with me. I know that I am never alone and will always have a helping hand to guide me through the trials of life. I love this gospel and know that it is true. I know that if I live by my faith, show charity, and endure to the end that I will be able to return to His presence and be welcomed into the Kingdom of God.

How I live my faith

I strive everyday to be an example of Christ and think of what He would do if he was on this earth today. I am a visiting teacher for my church and the group leader of my Family Home Evening group. In these responsibilities I try to make sure everyone feels included and compose certain activities that will bring people together spiritually and emotionally. It is great to be able to create an environment of acceptance. My faith is everything to me and so I try and do things daily to show my love to God.
