Hi I'm Emily

I work with a photography company. I love music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently working with a photography company that takes Senior Pictures for high schoolers. It's a pretty okay job, but I am really looking forward to going on my mission for the Church. I am going to the Mexico, Mexico City West mission and I leave in December! I can't wait. I just finished up my first year at BYU Provo. It was such a great experience, and I learned a lot and met a lot of great people! I am really looking forward to continuing my education after my mission. I want to be an elementary school teacher when I get older, and then hopefully get into education legislation. But we'll see where life takes me!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of this Church all my life. This gospel has made me who I am today. I continue to live the teachings of this gospel because I know for myself that they are true. I know that the Book of Mormon is true because I have read it and have prayed to know for myself. In college, I realized that I had to gain my own testimony instead of just relying on my mom's, and I did gain my own. It was hard, but so worth it. I can say with a surety that I would not be who I am today if it wasn't for this gospel and the amazing power of the Atonement and the wonderful love and mercy of our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

Even though I'm only 19, I have the amazing opportunity to work with the children in my congregation. I help with singing time, as well as keeping the kids from being crazy! I also help facilitate activities for the girls ages 8-11! It is so much fun being with these girls! We get to do so many fun things, like play games, learn songs, and go on picnics! It's such a fun environment to be in. I also work in the Temple once a week. I direct people to where they need to go and also help with doing work for people who have already passed on. It's such an amazing environment to be in, and it reminds me why I am a Mormon.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Knowing anything is true is really hard, but if you sincerely want to know the answer, then go to Heavenly Father in prayer and ask Him with a full purpose in heart, and He will answer. Heavenly Father wants us to know things with a surety, and He won't ever leave us in the dark. If you really want to know if Mormonism is true, then just seek the answers in the Book of Mormon, in the prophets, and in your own heart.
