Hi I'm Dalyn Cahoon

I'm from Utah, and I love music. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I really love singing in choirs. I took choir classes in high school, and I enjoyed it more than anything. One of my favorite things to do in my free time is photography. There is so much to be said about pictures, and it is so easy to see beauty all around. I also like to read. I prefer to read science fiction or fantasy novels, such as Ender's Game or the Lord of the Rings. One of the most important things in my life is my family. I have 4 sisters, and I love them all. My family is the best. I am pretty good at playing video games, however I have been playing less and less as the years are going by. I am really good at making shaved ice. Right now, almost all of my friends are either on missions, or going to college. I really miss the days in high school where I saw all of them every day. I love my friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church, and I was baptized when I was 8, but I never really gave much thought to why I was a Mormon until I was about fourteen. When I was fourteen, people really started to ask if I wanted to serve a mission. I said yes, but I didn't really mean it. I kept that train of thought for a long time. After I started learning and actually applying the gospel to my life, however, I began to feel that it was true. Like, really feel. Whenever someone talks about Joseph Smith and the First Vision, I feel the spirit so strongly. I know that the Holy Ghost is testifying to me that the church is true. I know that Joseph Smith saw God the Father, and His son, Jesus Christ. Because I know this, I follow the teachings of Christ. I know that there is living prophet on the earth today, even Thomas S. Monson, and that he receives revelation from God to guide and direct the church.

How I live my faith

So right now I am serving in the Czech/Slovak mission, and I am speaking in Slovak. In the past, one of my favorite things I have done in the church was when I was able to help plan the Brigham City Seminary Centennial fireside. President Boyd K. Packer attended, and it was so amazing to hear what he had to say about Brigham City. I really love the opportunities that I have to talk to people. I love to hear people's stories because it really shows why people are the way they are. Because every person is different!
