Hi I'm KC Mullen

I love music, the mountains, the water, and my family. I love being a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Utah and moved to Chicago for most of my childhood before before moving back to Utah with my family to finish High School. Throughout my childhood music was an incredible influence in my life. I played the piano when I was little and later transitioned to Viola and then picked up the guitar. I love being active. Pick-up basketball and frisbee are some of my most favorite things in the world! I love the outdoors, the mountains are my playground. Despite my pursuits in life the most important thing in my life is my family, there is nothing I would rather do than sit down and play a game of cards or go on a hike with my closest loved ones.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a Mormon. My parents raised me in a loving home with my brother and three younger sisters. I am a Mormon because there is nothing in this world I believe is more powerful than the teachings of The Gospel of Jesus Christ, which are found in their fullness within the teachngs of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The love I feel from it's members is unparalleled by anything else I know. I have read the Book of Mormon and know that the teachings from it's pages are true, and as it states that "a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book."

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a missionary in Texas and love serving and sharing the teachings of Christ with all those around me. I try to never let anyone pass me by without at least simply saying "Hello!" and letting them know that I care about them and that God loves them.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

KC Mullen
There is proof all around us that God is there. Our families and friends. The birds that fly in the sky. The stars in the heavens. The little kids that wake up tired moms on Saturday mornings. God has given us so many gifts and more often than not, they aren't very simple, and they didn't just show up out of nowhere. God's creations remind us that He loves us, and the greatest gift I have ever received from Him is the Gift of the Holy Ghost, which testifies to me that He is real, and that He is good, and that He loves me. Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

KC Mullen
We need a Savior because none of us are perfect. God said that anything that wasn't perfect could not stand in His presence, so that puts us in kind of an awkward situation. Jesus Christ suffered for our sins so that we could repent, and become better than we were yesterday, and as we do our best to follow his example, return to live with our Heavenly Father. How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

KC Mullen
God is our Heavenly Father, He loves and cares for us. Coming to know Him is much like coming to know a friend or family member. We need to talk to Him, through prayer. We need to read what He has said through His prophets, both modern and ancient. We also need to keep His commandments, do as He asks, and trust that He will keep His promises. In doing those things we can be assured that we will come to know and grow closer to God, our Heavenly Father. Show more Show less
