Hi I'm Ashley Wassom

I'm a mormon, a proud member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! I grew up in the beautiful Vancouver, WA.

About Me

I am a tall, enthusiastic, running crazed, happy student who is blessed enough to attend an intellectually prestigious and religious University. When I am not absorbed in studies, I love to enjoy the outdoors: scuba diving, running, playing volleyball, are just a few of my favorite things to do! I also love to serve and just found a really cool club that allows me to help out my fellow peers around the campus on a weekly basis. In my many years upon this earth I have learned that the quickest way to find happiness is to forget about yourself and reach out to others. I also love photography and photojournalism. There is something that pictures capture that cannot be saved in any other way! As an avid art enthusiast, I love exploring the work of artists and creating my own out of pencil, paint, charcoal, scratchboards, you name it.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I know in my heart that the teachings of this church are true. I have received this personal witness through the Holy Spirit, which has made it known unto me that I am a daughter of God, that as my Father he loves me, and He loves all his children. I know that anyone can know that this church is true through learning the teachings, having a humble and open heart, and by praying to our Father in Heaven and asking with real intent if it is true. The wonderful thing about this church is that we want all our members to find out for themselves that this is the true church, knowing that we have felt in our hearts that it is, and having faith that each of His beloved sons and daughters (you) can receive their own personal testimony if they truly desire and work to obtain their own personal witness from our Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I live my faith day to day, trying to emulate what I believe in all that I do. I am not perfect at doing this, but I know that as I strive to work day by day I can improve the person I am, becoming more of what my Heavenly Father wants me to be. Attending church on Sundays, church activities throughout the week, being involved in service groups, daily personal scripture study, and daily personal prayer are all important and essential for me to stay focused on living what I believe. These small but profound things are what a personal testimony (personal witness of ones beliefs based on a foundation that Christ is our Savior) is build on and as such make the biggest difference in my life.
