Hi I'm Javen

I was born and raised in Utah, with aspirations in a career in the visual arts. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an Eagle Scout, and enjoy going on adventures. I have often worked on cars with my dad. I am an avid traceur and train for parkour regularly with the buddings of a team. I also write and illustrate graphic novels and hope to employ this interest as a lasting career.

Why I am a Mormon

I have attended church meeting for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints my whole life, since my parents raised me to do so. I was baptized at the age of eight on faith but didn't seek a deep and lasting testimony for myself until a few years later. I had lost some friendships and was looking to stabilize myself as my life seemed to be up in the air. Although I had been taught it, I hadn't developed any habit of scripture study. In a conversation with a friend, I asked why she thought the Book of Mormon was important enough to read every day. She invited me to find out for myself and I began reading that night. I have more or less read every day since and I have come to feel of the light and truth contained in that sacred book's pages. Reading the Book of Mormon has changed my life. It is true. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by setting a good example for my siblings by doing daily scripture study including the Book of Mormon, and earnestly praying multiple times a day. I keep my language and entertainment clean and strive to stand up for my standards in all situations. I have received my mission call to serve as a full time missionary in Canada. This is a major way that I have decided to live my faith as I help others to discover the truth I have found in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I prepare myself in all necessary areas for this wonderful opportunity, including attending a Mission Preparation meeting every Sunday.
