Hi I'm Klarissa Leon

I was born in the south, Georgia, USA. I'm serving a mission in the north, the Canada Montreal Mission! And I'm a Mormon! ^_^

About Me

I am a college student. I hope to go to BYU Provo in Utah after my mission. I really admire the school and I am in hopes of benefiting from their awesome curriculum and wholesome environment. I plan to study Education to teach elementary. I love working with young children because of their pure spirits and resilience. I have always had the desire to teach in me since I was a kid myself and I have always enjoyed the opportunities I've had to interact with children and make a positive difference in their lives. I feel happy in providing that kind of service that really benefits people's lives. I also have a passion for music. I love to sing all the time, and I mean nearly ALL the time. I do have a dream and a desire to make a difference in the world by producing music that people can connect with and feel inspired to make right changes in their lives with the messages shared. I come from a big happy family, and although we are not perfect, the gospel has made all the difference in keeping us together and centered on Christ. Family is a huge part of my life and I know that being a mother one day will be a sacred way I can make a difference in the world as well. I love traveling and going on new adventures in life. God has always been my guide and directed my paths, so although life is hard, I'm eternally grateful that I can undoubtedly trust in Him all the days of my life. He has never let me down and has always given me experiences to increase my faith and trust in Him.

Why I am a Mormon

I am converted to the LDS Christain faith because of the feelings I have had in my heart while praying to know the truth of their religion and the Book of Mormon. I actively did as is advised in the church, which is to read the Book of Mormon, and pray often. In the scriptures, we are directed to DO things in order to obtain a special witness of the truths of the gospel. I know that we can only receive spiritual answers through spiritual means explained by God, such as prayers and I HAVE received that witness, which is the Holy Ghost, letting me know in my heart and mind that the things they teach are true and that they do come from the Lord. I have practiced doing my part in spreading the gospel by teaching, testifying, and fulfilling all other responsibilities I have been given with the positions in the Church I have voluntarily served in. I know God is a God of ACTION and MIRACLES, He is always expecting us to do our part to come unto Him and His Son, Jesus Christ, and I promise that if we will apply ourselves to fulfill all His commandments He will see our good efforts and bless us accordingly and that we too will receive a witness of His truths, which are eternal. I've experienced this promise and invite and want to help all others experience it too.

How I live my faith

I have always tried to live the truths I have come to know of the gospel through faith and prayer and being active in His church. I try most earnestly to do my part in building and strengthening my faith and testimony of the restored gospel through prayer, reading and studying the scriptures, and listening to the counsel of my parents and other spiritual leaders. I try to be humble and teachable so that I too may be able to uplift others and strengthen their faith in the our Savior, Jesus Christ and His gospel restored to the Earth again by bearing my own testimony and teaching them the gospel which is made available to everyone. I have recently been called to serve a mission in Canada to preach the restored gospel in the Spanish and French, which I am very excited for. I know many challenges await me there and I am eager to work my best to learn and do His will concerning His children there. We live the gospel, or teachings of our Savior, Jesus Christ, as we put our faith into action and do the things He has commanded us to. As we obey His commandments, the desires in our hearts will change! We will become more like Him, in the things we say, think, and do. Serving others is what He has asked us to do to truly love one another as sons and daughters of God and become like His Son, Jesus Christ. Uplifting one another to strengthen our faith in Him is why we are here in this life. And when we come to know these things for ourselves through prayer and scripture study, a personal change will grow in our hearts, and we will naturally want to follow Christ's example in every way and do all the things He told us to do so that we can receive all the blessings and joy He promises us, not only in this life, but also for eternity. I am experiencing these blessing everyday in my life and am so grateful for God's hand in the lives of His children. And I want all others to experience it for themselves as well. That is literally my purpose on Earth. :)
