Hi I'm Josh

I'm a missionary! I love my Savior. I love my family. I laugh too much. I'm a Mormon

About Me

My family is my greatest source of joy and happiness and I love my parents and brothers and sisters so much. I enjoy healthy, good tasting things like cheese cake, Swedish pastries, candy, and very rarely green beans.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up, if I would have tried to explain to another why I was LDS, I would probably say something along the lines of, "I was raised in the church," and then probably would have gone onto explain that my life was pretty good because of my membership. These two things are certainly true, but it wasn't until a few years ago that I could say without hesitation that I am a Mormon and I know that the LDS church is absolutely true. Probably the most personal and most life-changing experience that occurred in my life took place when I was a freshman in high school. Every night, I read the scriptures, prayed for assistance to overcome my challenges, and I prayed for forgiveness and a change of heart. One night, as I fell on my knees, begging again for forgiveness I was suddenly hit by a wave a warmth and comfort and I felt the greatest love I have ever experienced. I thought I heard a voice whisper my name and then say, "You are forgiven." My heart was changed that day. That night, I had felt the full power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I knew then that there was a God, that He did love me, that He was looking out for me. As my life moved on, and as I encountered sadness and sorrow, or if I was dealing with an issue, whatever it may be, I have always felt peace through the scriptures and through prayer. I have had so many experiences when I was reading the Book of Mormon and a scripture that I just happen to read answered I question I had, or filled the holes in my heart as I faced challenges. I know the Book of Mormon is true and that it testifies of Jesus Christ and his Atonement. I know this church is the only church with living apostles and prophets. It is Christ's church on the earth today, just as it was when he was on the earth.

How I live my faith

It's all about striving to be better. Heck, I ain't perfect, but I can try to do the things I've been asked of God. I try and daily study and apply the scriptures. I am learning how to better be obedient to the Holy Ghost. I am the same person in church as I am outside of it. My faith isn't really built on my life. My life is built on my faith.
