Hi I'm Travis

I was born and raised in S California, and it was here I developed my faith in Jesus Christ, King of kings, entering discipleship.

About Me

I am an avid reader on subjects ranging from philosophy (of which I am a rationalist), politics, economics, and of course, theology. I have the political stance of libertarian thought, for it is the only political thought I see in line with the principle of free will, the principle which is the most key of our God, for that is why we are here. I play bass guitar and write mine own songs, which can be stuck into the desert rock/hard/70's rock genres, and a few classic metal toned ones. I have thus far spent two years in schooling in pursuit of a political science and philosophy degree, as I plan to dual major. I however am putting all my loves and hobbies on the side and on hold to serve our Father in a mission, to bring the children of men unto the fullness of joy, which is a knowledge in Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a student of Christ and a member of His divinely ordained church here on earth, for I see it as the only logical christian gospel in the world. It is the only gospel of which can explain in full, and in a reasonable manner, scriptures from Old to New Testament, without contradiction. It is in fact the only church I have come across that even tries to connect all scriptures in a coherent reasoned and organized manner. Most churches skip a lot, as far as I have seen. The teachings and organization of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is also the only gospel that I have observed and studied which follows line for line the organization Christ spoke of in the New Testament. So, simply from reading and the study of history and scripture, I came to believe in this gospel, for it is most reasonable and true. And then there is that part of me which cannot be fully put into words, a testimony more divine than mine own understanding which came through my seeking. That of which I speak is a testimony of the fullness and truthfulness of this Gospel, that came through prayer and revelation by the Spirit of God. Thus I am a "Mormon," which word I personally hesitate to use, but so is how the world defines us; I am a follower of Christ and His true organized Church, divinely organized, and He the head thereof, not because any man told me or taught me, but because God the Father Himself revealed such knowledge unto me in His mercy.

How I live my faith

I have served before as a teacher in my local church, teaching those who are 18 and older. An odd thing for a man not much older than the minimum age, but that I did thoroughly enjoy, to see them be filled with a love for learning the teachings of Christ, and to see as they change their lives to be more like His. I currently am a ward missionary and I go to the homes of those who are in need of assistance, whether that is in instruction, thus teaching them concerning the doctrines of Christ, or to simply help them with a loving hand in assistance of any physical problems they endure.
