Hi I'm Clare Lore

I am a college student. I scuba dive, I love art and reading, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a freshman at BYU and I have no idea what to major in. I'm exploring studio arts, such as drawing or sculpting, but I'm also interested in biology, engineering, and English. When I'm not stressing out about school or humongous life decisions I like to swim, read fantasy novels, or hang out with my siblings. I am an aunt to a ten month old little princess who is a joy to be around. She's learning to walk, pull everything onto the floor, and make messes like you wouldn't believe, but her laugh is the highlight of my day.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to a family that already had deep roots in the gospel of Jesus Christ and the LDS church. I learned the stories of Jesus when I was little and I have grown up in a home where I pray and read scriptures every night with my family. I have known my whole life that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me and that I can pray to him at any time for anything. I have felt joy and peace in knowing that though I make mistakes, Jesus Christ suffered and died for me so that I can change. He lived his life so that I could see his example and see what I can do that would make me the happiest I could possible be. He sent us the Bible and now the Book of Mormon, two testaments of his life and of his teachings, so that I could grow up like this, so that I could learn, teach, and love as my Savior did and so that I could be happy. Truly happy. I am a Mormon because I am happy when I follow the example of Jesus Christ and keep the commandments He gives to his living prophets, and I know that His church and His prophets are to be found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday as well as any activities we have during the week. One of my favorite activities is family home evening. Every Monday my family gets together to have a spiritual discussion from the scriptures, an activity, and always, treats. I love spending this time with my family and learning and teaching together. Now that I have moved out to college we do family home evening a little differently. In my new ward I am assigned a family home evening group and we get together to do the same things we would with my family back at home. I am getting to know new people, having lots of fun, and I still get that time to study the scriptures together with people I know love Jesus Christ as much as I do.
