Hi I'm Kaylee

I grew up in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. I love flying planes and helicopters. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to be outside and go camping. I also love rock climbing and flying helicopters/ fixed wing planes. I'm going to go to college to be a Cardiovascular Surgeon. I've moved around a lot, but have loved everywhere I have lived. I have 5 wonderful siblings and my Mom.

Why I am a Mormon

When I grew up I didn't believe that there was a God and I was always angry. I was always upset with everyone around me and didn't find any joy in my life. I felt like I was surrounded by darkness. Then one day, I asked my grandparents who were members of the church why they were always so happy. They said it was because of their church. I actually read the Book of Mormon trying to disprove it and still having no faith in God, I knelt down and prayed about the book. I think I prayed for at least 20 minutes just wondering if there was anyone who was actually hearing me, but then I felt an overwhelming sense of peace and comfort that seemed to have come out of nowhere. I now know that without a doubt that this is the true church of Jesus Christ and that God lives.

How I live my faith

Right now I am a Sister Missionary in the Des Moines, Iowa mission! I love it so much and love to work the people that I meet everyday. I am a Spanish Speaking missionary.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

The Atonement of Jesus Christ is central to our lives. Without it we cannot hope to return to live again with our Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ again. The Atonement was when Jesus Christ willingly came down to the earth and suffered for all of our pains, afflictions, sickness, sorrows, and sins. He was able to do this because He was chosen of The Father and lived a perfect life. Only through using the Atonement and repenting daily can we become clean and happy in this life and the life to come. Show more Show less

Who chooses the Mormon prophet?

We do not have a "voting" for the next Prophet of the Church, God chooses the next Prophet and then directs him on how He wants His church to be directed. Show more Show less

What is Mormonism? OR What do Mormons believe?

Mormonism is the Church of Jesus Christ if Latter-day Saints. We believe that our church was restored after the Great Apostasy which was after the death of Jesus Christ and His Apostles. The true church was no where to be found during the apostasy. The Church was then later restored through a modern day prophet named Joseph Smith in 1820. Joseph Smith saw God The Father and Jesus Christ in the Sacred Grove, which is up in the state if New York. Jesus Christ restored His church through Joseph and restored the Priesthood power which is the authority and power of God. He gave this power to act in His name on this earth. Show more Show less
