Hi I'm Suzanne

I am a wife, mother and grandmother, sister, and aunt. I love life and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on a small farm in rural Idaho with eight other siblings. I grew up in a loving family with a father and a mother. I married my husband when I was 20. I worked as a personal assistant for a law firm until we started our own family. I left my job when our oldest was born and I have been a full-time mother ever since. I have seven children and six grandchildren. Over the years we have opened our doors to foreign exchange students, relatives and others that we have grown to love. I enjoy life. I love to surround myself with life. Not only do I have family but I surround myself with plants inside and out. I have enjoyed various animals, birds and amphibians in my yard to bring life close to me. I have a garden and fruit trees to tend and coax into fruition. I enjoy sewing and hand work. The theater, and symphony are also joys in my life. I have not always felt this way. There was a time in my life for several years when I had severe health problems and suffered from depression. Doing the laundry and preparing a meal were major accomplishments for me. There were times when I felt like giving up and wondered if it was all worth it. It was my faith in my Savior, Jesus Christ that kept me putting one foot in front of another and continuing to search for answers to my health problems. I knew giving up was not what He wanted me to do. I made it through that time because of my faith in Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I Know that God lives. He has living prophets that guide and direct His work here. Because of the restored gospel I know where I came from. I have a loving Heavenly Father and Mother. I know the purpose of life. I can return to my heavenly home and my life does not end when my body will no longer have breath. I have peace knowing Jesus Christ is my redeemer. Through the atonement I can return home. My family will be my family forever through the blessings of a temple marriage.

How I live my faith

Currently I am serving in my ward as a visiting teacher and a nursery helper. I have served in the community supervising the week long celebration for the city. This celebration included parades, carnivals, community dinners, cowboy poetry, fine arts exhibits, 5 and 10K runs and a breakfast. I am currently supporting and helping my husband as he serves as a state legislator.
