Hi I'm Teresita Tamayo

California raised. Student at BYU Hawaii. Called to serve in the Dominican Republic. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am Mexican and am proud of my Latino heritage. I love dancing and food! My siblings and I were fortunate enough to be first generation college students. I love meeting new people and starting new adventures! In December I will embark on an LDS mission to the Dominican Republic.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are converts to the LDS church. Through their example of faith, I have been able to come to know for myself that this church is true. I have constantly been blessed by the power of prayer in my life. I know that I have loving Heavenly Father who wants the best for me because he sacrificed his Only Begotten Son for our salvation. I testify that if we take the time to turn away from the world and turn towards our Father in Heaven we will be blessed.

How I live my faith

I love children and I have been fortunate enough to work with the children and the youth in my ward and community. In high school I volunteered at the local youth center in my community. In my ward I taught church lessons to the children in my ward between the ages of 4 and 6. I enjoy doing projects with them and helping them learn gospel principles in church. I make an effort to be welcoming to anyone I come across, as well as help them feel loved.
