Hi I'm Katie Moyes

I grew up all over the Northwest in the U.S. I'm the 4th of 7 children. I'm going to serve a mission to England. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I'm Katie. I moved a lot as a kid or it seemed to be when i was a kid. We've settled in Utah recently. I was born in California and moved from there to Utah, and Washington three different times. I work at a gym daycare and I enjoy taking care of kids. I love making crafts and art in general. I love to sketch self portraits. My whole sense of humor revolves around movie quotes. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. I'm the 4th of 7 children. I love to dance and sing even though I'm not very good at it. I decided to get a job and save up to go on a mission. I got called to go to England. I'm very excited to go and serve as much as I can. I plan to go to college afterwards. I love to read fantasy fiction, and other genres. I love to learn about new things.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the LDS church and was baptized when I was 8. Growing up I was taught to love the Lord and do what he asks. By doing so I would be blessed. I didn't really understand this until I was a bit older. I started really questioning this when I was 11 and wanted to know the truth. I had the feeling one day to bare my testimony that Sunday and I knew it was the Holy Ghost telling me the church was the right church. From then on, things started to happen to increase my testimony. I've had many small experiences that have helped. I read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know it was the truth. It is. I prayed to know about what I should do in my life. I got the answer from God that I needed to go on a mission. That's what I'm doing. I leave in a month and a half. I've chosen to be a member of this church because I know that it's true. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and helped translate the golden plates so we could have the Book of Mormon. I know that Heavenly Father sent His son, Jesus Christ to atone for our sins so we could return to Him. The temple truly is the Lords house, and the feelings you get there are peaceful. I love being a member. I am excited to be able to serve in England. i know the Lord takes care of His children, loves and is mindful of them. He has been mindful of me.

How I live my faith

I enjoy being a member of the church. I've been asked to be a missionary in my ward and I love to visit the people I'm assigned over. I've had several callings as a youth. I've been president over the 12-13 year old girls in my community, I've been a secretary for the 14-15 year old girls, and when I turned 16 I was president over the older girls. While I've had these callings, it opened up opportunities to share my beliefs and care for the people in my community. Also, I love to serve people. I try to be an example of what I believe. I try to show my faith at work, church and with my friends when the opportunity arises.
