Hi I'm Carrian Cheney

I grew up in Washington, live in Utah with my husband and two daughters & I'm a food blogger, recipe developer and business owner

About Me

I'm a wife to a loving husband and mother to two daughters that are full of life and have definitely taught us a lot about what it really means to love someone. I've never wanted anything more than to be a mother and have a little family of my own. It's more wonderful, more exhausting, more exciting and more difficult than I ever imagined, but the best thing about life. A few years ago my husband and I were really enjoying being in the kitchen and trying new recipes together and we decided to put our favorites on a blog for friends and family. Not too long after we started receiving comments from people we didn't know and our food blog turned into a full time business. It can be tricky trying to balance being a business owner, wife and mother but I know that this opportunity is from my loving father in heaven, so I choose daily to keep my priorities in order, the gospel and my relationship with my savior, my husband, my children and then our business. When our priorities are in order our family is blessed and we are able to accomplish all that we need to that day. We also strive to use our careers as a way to serve the Lord in every way and we have witnessed many wonderful blessings and miracles by always remembering Him, even when the world would say to keep the two separate. His hand is in every aspect of our lives, and we wouldn't have it any other way.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose every day to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I know, with every part of me, that God lives. He is truly our father in heaven who knows and loves each of us. I know that his son, and our brother came to this earth and truly lived and walked as we do all so that we could one day live with him again. I have felt his presence during the good, bad, and sad moments of my life. I attend the temple weekly because I know that we are here for a reason. The gospel of Jesus Christ provides the path back home. Each of us lived before coming here, we were given special blessings and made promises that were to be fulfilled on this earth. We are literal children of the God above and I am choosing to never forget that by being an active and faithful member. I know that everything I do matters and that the people around me matter. I only desire to serve him and one day have him embrace me and live with him and all those I love again.

How I live my faith

One thing I have always felt strongly about is serving in our church. It's an opportunity to grow and learn as well as strengthen those around us. I live my faith by trying to serve those around me by praying daily for opportunities. It's been amazing to witness how much Heavenly Father loves each of his children. Some days it's a prompting for a neighbor in another neighborhood whom we've never met, other times it's a ward member, and still there are times when it's promptings for our own children or family members. I've held a variety of callings from Primary presidency, to the youth, relief society teacher and most recently called into the nursery which is such a joy to work so closely with the most precious of all on this Earth, the children. As I serve with all of my heart I've come to know my savior and that closeness is worth any sacrifice for time.
