Hi I'm Kindra Ferguson

I'm a lover, I'm a fighter, I'm a leader and I'm a follower. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving a full time mission in the Ogden Utah Mission speaking Spanish! I have always dreamed of doing the Lord's work and I'm so thankful for the opportunity. I love theatre, music, art, fashion, and food. I love shopping, exploring, live music, swimming, sunshine, reading, and being with people I love. I have a large, loving family and I wouldn't have it any other way. I also have the most incredible friends. I love observing and studying other people and their cultures. I believe there is something to learn from every person, place, and situation we come into contact with! I am a freshman at Brigham Young University and I cannot wait to see where life takes me!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My conversion, however, was very gradual. I never really doubted what I was told but as I've gained more experience and learned for myself, I can say I know without a doubt in my mind that this gospel is true. It brings me so much joy and fulfillment that I know I couldn't receive anywhere else. I know that Jesus Christ is my savior and that he atoned for my sins and died for me on the cross. I'm so grateful his atonement provided a way for my sins to be forgiven and for me to one day become perfected. I know that through the prophet Joseph Smith, Christ restored his church on the earth today. I believe that Heavenly Father has a plan for each of us and he provides a way to follow it. I know I can return to live with him someday along with family. Families really are eternal thanks to the sealing power of the temple. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that it goes hand in hand with the bible. It teaches me every day. I have gotten so many answers and so much comfort by reading those beautiful words. I testify that prayer is powerful and God answers ALL of our prayers in his own time, whether or not we recognize those answers. I know he loves me and he loves YOU.

How I live my faith

It's pretty simple I guess. I try my best every day to follow the example of Jesus Christ and do what he would have me do. I feel that that is the only way to really love my faith.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Kindra Ferguson
The "Mormon Lifestyle" is more normal than most think. We go to school, have jobs and families, and participate in many of the same activities that everybody else does! However, we choose to keep the commandments of God and abstain from immorality, drugs, alcohol, and any situation that drives the spirit of the Lord away! We put a lot of emphasis on living a faithful life and strengthening our relationships with our Heavenly Father, with Jesus Christ, and within our own families. Things like going to church, personal scripture reading, and prayer help us to do this! Show more Show less

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Kindra Ferguson
Mormon women are an incredibly diverse group filled with intelligent, independent, talented, and faithful women that don't often fit the stereotype associated with us. We absolutely believe in gender equality. We recognize that men and women are created with divine differences and each have important roles but that no one sex is better or more important. Women in this church have so many incredible opportunities to be leaders and to make our voices heard and I believe that women can accomplish ANYTHING. Show more Show less
