Hi I'm Kerri

I love raising my kids. I also love to bake, read, walk and spend time with my family. I'm a wife and a mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and mother. After years of infertility, we adopted our first three children (as infants), then were blessed to have three more. I truly enjoy being with my family. I enjoy baking and reading. I like to speedwalk for exercise (and read at the same time). I like to take walks in the evening with my husband and our dog (and any children that choose to join us). I love attending my childrens' sporting events and performances. I graduated from college with a degree in nursing and worked labor and delivery for several years, but now only work seasonally giving flu shots so that I can spend more time with and raise my family.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were converted to the gospel right before I was born. I am extremely grateful for that as it has allowed me the opportunity to grow up learning about my Savior and God's great plan for us. This brings me such happiness and peace and security. I know God is real. He hears my prayers and answers them (not always as I plan, but always as I truly need). I feel His love for me each day and know that I matter to Him, as does everyone else. I know Jesus Christ lived and died for me and all of mankind. I am thankful for the sacrifice He made that makes it possible for us to return to our Heavenly Father. I love Him and try to show Him my love and gratitude by the way I live my life each day. I am thankful for the guidance I receive daily from the Holy Ghost. I feel guidance and direction as I seek answers in prayer and scripture study for how to live my life and serve those around me. I love the scriptures and learn so much as I read and study them. I know the Book of Mormon is true, as well as the Bible, the Doctrine and Covenants, and The Pearl of Great Price. I have received inspiration and felt the Spirit testify of their truths countless times as I've read them. I know we have a living Prophet today who leads and guides us and I love studying the words we receive from him as well, as I know that they are inspired of God. I know these things are true, not by one great experience, but by many sweet small ones that have become a part of who I am and what I know today. As my Grandma used to say, "God has been good to me."

How I live my faith

My calling at church is to instruct and support the leaders of children of my area (ages 18 months through 11 years old) to help them be more effective teachers and leaders. I really enjoy this opportunity to serve the children in my community. I feel guided as I do this because I seek the Lord's help in prayer. I am very grateful for this. I also serve my community by participating on a health-focused committee. I also read the scriptures on my own and take an adult religion class during the week to study the scriptures in depth. I love learning and participating in this.

Are Mormons Christians?

Kerri
Absolutely. Our church is named after Him: "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints." We pray and worship in the name of Jesus Christ and acknowledge that He is the head of our church. We know that it is only through Christ's atonement that we can return to our Father in Heaven and are thankful for His great sacrifice and love for all of us. Show more Show less
