Hi I'm Terrie-Anne

I grew up in Hawaii, and now live in the Pacific Northwest. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a divorced mom of a girl and a boy. I work full time in an office for a non-profit organization. I enjoy singing and playing the piano.

Why I am a Mormon

Off and on, I had been looking for the "right" church. Through a personal relationship with God, reading the scriptures, and praying I was able to find a standard of what the church needed to be. About two years ago, I had met some members of the church, and asked many questions. They invited me to have discussions with the missionaries, and I found that being a Mormon met and exceeded my standards as to what the true church of Jesus Christ is. It took about two weeks-- I got baptized and confirmed. No matter what hardship or trial I have encountered, I have not turned away, and have been given many blessings.

How I live my faith

I play the piano for the women's group that meets during the third hour on Sunday, and for the choir that sings during sacrament meeting once a month. I also sing with the regional choir. Prior to joining the church, I felt like I had not reason to practice or to share my musical talents. Since I became a member, I feel blessed because I am able to join with others in setting the right mood for worship through song. Another activity I enjoy about the church is genealogy. I am able to find out about my ancestors and their lives, which helps me to identify and connect with my "roots." I have been finding that genealogy has deeper meaning connected to faith that I did not previously know about.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

While studying the Book of Mormon for yourself, it is important to ask questions. Asking faithful members and the missionaries helps introduce the ideas, but it is way more important to pray with God about the ideas that are being presented to you. Pray with sincerity to finding out the *real* truth, and I promise that you will find the answers, in ways you probably never thought you would. Show more Show less
