Hi I'm Elizabeth

I grew up in Texas. I'm a convert - first member in my family. I love painting and basketball. I'm a Mormon :)

About Me

I grew up in Texas in a family that is not Mormon. My family comes from many religious backgrounds, but never really introduced my siblings and I to the gospel, in any way. I was baptized two days following my 18th birthday and it has been the best decision I've ever made :) Some of my favorite things to do are painting, playing basketball, horseback riding, and learning. Currently, I am a student at BYU-Idaho and I love it! :) My most favorite thing to learn about is the gospel, especially about Christ and what He has done for us :)

Why I am a Mormon

The very first time I learned of the Book of Mormon, I wanted to read it! One night, the night I received a copy of the Book of Mormon, I got down on my knees and prayed to know if it was true. I felt such a lightness and a brightness fill the inside of me, and at that very moment, I knew without a doubt that the Book of Mormon is true. From the time I learned of the church to my 18th birthday, I had very little contact with the missionaries, as my parents wouldn't allow me to. As my 18th birthday approached, my mom finally gave in to letting me meet with the missionaries because she knew that that's what I was going to do once I turned 18. My birthday, was just a couple of days before Easter in April of 2014. That Saturday, the day before Easter, I made the covenant of baptism. All the way down the baptismal font, I was shaking because I was so scared and I knew that my parents did not approve. But I was 18, so I also knew that it was my decision. Once in the baptismal font, the Elder baptizing me reached for my hand. A thought went through my head, "well, this is your last chance to back out," But I couldn't. There was no way I could say no to something so wonderful. As I came out of the water, I felt so clean. I knew that all of my past sins had been washed away and that I was truly given a clean slate. It was the best feeling in the world. The next day, I was confirmed a member of the Church and received the gift of the Holy Ghost. Truly, there is no greater gift. Following the blessing, I felt a blanket of warmth wrap around me. It felt so good! And it felt so familiar! I know this Church is true. And even though I've had many trials because of my membership, and even though my parents are not members, it has been the greatest blessing of my life! I urge everyone to learn as much as thy can about the Church so that they may receive all of the wonderful gifts that comes with it! :) This has been my greatest blessing.

How I live my faith

I read scriptures with my fiance what scriptures are most meaningful to me. We also often say prayers together. I love attending church on Sundays :) Being able to serve others is one of my most favorite things to do! :) I also love to teach others what I've learned and help them through their trials. I fulfill my callings to the best of my abilities.
