Hi I'm Stefan

I was born and raised in the United States. I’m an opera singer. I’m a soldier. I’m a missionary. I’m a Mormon.

About Me

I am a member of a musical family; my mom is a professional opera singer, my dad is a cellist, choir director and soldier, and my older brother is also a singer. I have followed in their footsteps and am a professional opera singer like my mother, as well as a soldier like my dad. I am a student of vocal performance in college. My experiences as a singer and also as a soldier have greatly strengthened me physically, mentally, emotionally and even spiritually. The things I have learned through these experiences have been a great help to me in life and also as a full-time missionary here in Sweden. One of my favorite things about the gospel is that there is always more! You never stop learning (Matthew 7:7-8)!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church, which has been a huge blessing. I did, however, take it for granted for the better part of my childhood. I went through the motions without giving anything much thought. I piggy-backed on my parents’ testimonies and didn’t have one of my own for the longest time. I think it was this lack of my own testimony that made it easy for me to depart from the straight and narrow path. There came a moment, however, when I realized that I needed to change things, because I was not happy with the way I felt about my life. It was during the summer between my sophomore and junior years of high school that I had my own personal conversion to the gospel. I went to Nauvoo, IL and the experience I had there completely changed my life. It was during my few days in Nauvoo that I really gained a testimony of the Prophet Joseph Smith and of the Church. I now know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that through him, our Heavenly Father who loves us so much that He restored His gospel to the Earth. I know that our Eternal Father wants us to come home to live with Him again and that He sent His son to atone for our sins, enabling our return to live as a heavenly family again. So, why am I a Mormon? I am a Mormon because the Holy Spirit has born witness to me that these things, along with their implications, are true.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In the past I have served in callings such as chorister, ward missionary, Sunday School teacher and various other callings. I try to live my faith by not doing things half-way. If the Lord asks me to do something, I see it as a sacred opportunity to increase my testimony, my faith, and my love of God and of those around me. I also accept as many opportunities to sing in church as possible, because I believe I was given the gift of music, particularly singing, for a reason. I try to show my gratitude to Him by using the gift He gave me to glorify Him (Matt. 5:14-16). I also love using the gift of music to help people to feel the Spirit, because, for myself at least, music is one of the best ways to connect souls. I also live my faith by sharing it. The restored gospel of Jesus Christ has given me such joy that I cannot contain it. I have to share it! Sharing what makes me happier than anything in the world magnifies my happiness, especially when I see it blessing the lives of others.
