Hi I'm Megan

I love listening to and creating music. I spend my time listening to others and trying to help anyone I can. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I currently attend Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, studying Sociology. Being from Los Angeles, California, I love being surrounded by people who live my faith. I taught myself guitar and I'd rather listen to country music than any current pop song. I should have been born in the South so I could be a real cowgirl. While I wish I could be a musician full time, I'm hoping to go into Social Work after I finish college so I can make a difference in the world and help people around me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church. My parents were both members and I have always gone to church, every Sunday. However, I became truly converted when I was about twelve years old. I remember learning about Joseph Smith and how he ventured into a grove of trees to find out what church was true. I wanted the same knowledge, so I stepped into my backyard, spread out a blanket and read Joseph Smith History, Chapter One. As I was reading, I felt sudden peace and happiness spread over my body. I just knew that the church was true and ever since then, I have continued to learn, grow and love this church. The happiness and peace that comes with the knowledge of eternal principles will change your life. The church is true and I don't know where I'd be without it. Life is hard but being a Mormon makes everything easier.

How I live my faith

Being at Brigham Young University, it is easy to feel like you're just like everyone else. However, I live my faith every day, even surrounded by those around me. My faith is not something that is separate from me--it is a direct part of my character as well as my daily life. Being away from home, no one reminds me to read my scriptures, say my prayers or attend church. Because I love the Lord, I do the things that would please Him. I currently teach at church and I love it. I love learning principles for myself and then trying to teach them to whoever will listen.
