Hi I'm Andrew

I grew up in Australia. I absolutely love playing sport. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am studying first year engineering at university. I just graduated from high school. I love to play, watch and participate in all forms of sport. Absolutely love it! Some of my favourites are rugby, running, swimming, cricket and volleyball, but the list goes on. I come from a family of 8 kids. Big family, right? I love to travel and experience different cultures. I enjoy learning and studying. I love to read. I was never an avid reader as a child, but when I was about 10 years old, something just clicked and I couldn't put books down. In my Senior years, I made a number of representative sports teams, including athletics, swimming, and cross country. I endeavour to pursue a sporting career in the near future, whilst studying at the same time.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a firm testimony that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live. I know that Jesus died for us so that we can repent and try to become more like him every day. It's such an incredible blessing, to be able to repent and be cleansed from sin each and every day. I know that God loves us. He knows who we are and what we can become. I love being a member of this gospel. It has made me who I am today. When I am serving others and living as Christ would have me live, I am filled with an joy that I cannot describe. I know that we can all be so happy by living the principles of this gospel. This is my testimony, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I love going to church each Sunday and being involved in activities throughout the week. I very much enjoy associating with other youth and YSA. I have been assigned as a home teacher with my dad. We enjoy going out and seeing how our families are. I am also currently serving as first assistant to the Bishop in the priest's quorum. This calling gives me a great opportunity to interact with the priests and all the other young men in my ward; to help them grow and learn.

What is being a Mormon like?

Andrew
One of the greatest reasons for being here on earth is to "have joy" (2 Nephi 2:25). Personal prayer, scripture study, and attending church helps us better understand that the best way to find joy and happiness in this life is to know about Our Heavenly Father's Plan of Happiness, the gospel of Jesus Christ, and to strive to keep God's "law" (Proverbs 29:18). Families are an essential part of God's Plan and much of how we live focuses on our families. We want to share the happiness we enjoy with everyone we can through service, missionary work, and contributing to society. Show more Show less
