Hi I'm Brennan

I grew up in California and moved to Utah. I'm currently serving in the California Ventura Mission. I love music and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised on California's Central Coast before moving out to Bountiful, Utah, where I completed high school. I'm currently serving as a missionary in the Great California Ventura Mission, where I have the same privilege of being able to share the gospel in many of the places I came to know as I grew up. I love music, theater, cooking, writing, and finding new ways to make life more of an adventure. I've grown to find a love for all of God's children and helping them find greater happiness in life, and I am planning on studying to become a Marriage and Family Therapist when I return home.

Why I am a Mormon

Why I'm a Mormon is very simple: I know that this is my Heavenly Father's plan for His Children. Anyone who is a member of the Church, whether they were born into it or joined later in life, has to at one point or another ask Him whether or not this is the way that He would have them live their life. There's no way around it. I reached that point when I was about 17, and I determined to find out for myself. I read just about anything about the Church that I could get my hands on, I studied up on the doctrine, but, most importantly, I read the Book of Mormon and seriously pondered about it. Then I approached God in prayer and specifically asked Him whether or not it was true, with a sincere desire to know, and I received my answer. I've since worked hard to strengthen my testimony, and now I can say that I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet, and that the Church is led and guided by a prophet today. Most importantly, I know that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior, and I am forever grateful for His wonderful sacrifice. My greatest desire is to serve and honor Him and my Heavenly Father, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints gives me the best opportunities and options to do so.

How I live my faith

Very basically I just try and live as my Savior wants me to. I think one of the coolest things about the Gospel is that we already have an example of a perfect life: the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. Now of course none of us will ever be able to live as perfectly as he did; we're imperfect. But, thankfully, he provided the Atonement for us so that we could get back up when we fall short. So everyday I do my best to take full advantage of that Atonement. I live my life with confidence and trust in Him, and at the times that I do fall short I pray for his forgiveness and strength so that I can become more of what He needs me to be. Really that's all the gospel is about: becoming better than the person that you were yesterday. And the only way to do that is by relying on our Savior.
