Hi I'm Alexandra

I am a native Californian, a recent MPA graduate, and wife to great husband. And I am life-long member of the Church.

About Me

My life, post high-school, has taken me across the country and back again. I received my BA in Political Science and my MPA most recently in Washington, DC. I taught middle school for four years and loved every second of it. I'm a voracious reader, an avid beach lover, and trying to get into running. I enjoy traveling and having adventures; I've been to India and worked in leprosy colonies and love doing charity work. My husband and I have been married for a year and a half and hope to start our family soon. I am still trying to figure out who I am, but I try to enjoy the journey as much as possible.

Why I am a Mormon

"By your fruits, ye shall know them." This dictum has guided my thinking about the church as my life has become increasingly complicated and less black and white than I once imagined it to be. I have seen the fruits of the Gospel in my own life and have had the seed of testimony grow within myself and take root so deeply that I could never deny it. I know, with all of my heart, that living the Gospel not only helps me to feel the peace and confidence that I so desperately need in this world, but brings me closer to Christ. Jesus Christ is our Savior. I am still learning how to apply Gospel principles and be better, but my conviction remains the same - the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ is found in the LDS church. I know it, love it, and can't imagine living any other way.

How I live my faith

I try to be as active in my local congregation as possible. In my last congregation, I worked with the children ages 3 - 12. I loved teaching them, playing with them, and hearing their sweet testimonies of Jesus Christ. I regularly reach out to those that I visit on a monthly basis and try to make life better for others that I come into contact with. My church service has made me a better community member, and if I'm being honest, a better family member to my own family.
