Hi I'm Christi

I'm a Texan in an Oklahoma world. I'm a married stay at home mom of 6 and a convert to the church. I love reading. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 36 year old stay at home mom to 6 amazing kids ranging from 17 months to 9 years old. I have 2 sons and 4 daughters. I am married to an artist and teacher. I love reading especially mysteries. I listen to a lot of music, mostly country. I try to be active in my community especially with things involving education. I love meeting new people, cooking, and spending time with my family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I loved the idea of God and a Savior but not the angry picture I saw so many churches paint of them both. I always felt like it was impossible to live good enough to appease this angry God they spoke of but I still felt something was missing in my life. I found that something when I found the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I found people who although they are not perfect, genuinely care for one another. I found a loving and forgiving Heavenly Father and a Brother who was willing to give everything, even His life for me. I love being a member of the Church and sharing the joy and comfort I get from the scriptures with others in my circle. Those who have known me for a while can see the difference the Atonement has brought into my life. I read my scriptures and pray now because I want to be closer to my Father and learn more of what He has to teach me. I look forward to attending Sunday services and seeing the people I have come to feel so connected with during my time in the Church. I love telling others about the peace and joy I have found and most of all the hope the Church gives me that there is so much more than what I can see here.

How I live my faith

I serve in our women's group and work closely with the ladies who teach in our group. I also have the privilege of visiting an awesome group of ladies that live near me.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

We come to know our Heavenly Father the same way we come to know anyone else in our lives. We communicate, we study, we ponder, and we repeat. We study the Father through the scriptures much as we study people we know today on Facebook. The scriptures help us get a fuller picture of who He is and what He has done for us. We communicate through prayer and the Holy Ghost. It requires quiet time to listen as well as time to talk. We think about the answers or feelings we receive and how they show the divine and loving nature of our Heavenly Father. We strive to follow the commandments set forth for us in the Scriptures. And, we do these things over and over again because that is how we learn more and more. Show more Show less
