Hi I'm Dani

I'm a geologist who put my career on hold to raise my children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Wisconsin were I was one of a handful of other kids my age who were Mormons. After graduating high school, I attended BYU Idaho where I received a bachelors in Geology. I love all things outdoors from hiking, to rock climbing, and studying geology fit right in. I planned on going far in my geology career and chasing my goals, however I met my husband at the end of college and we began our family. I still love geology and want to fulfill those goals, but I currently am taking time off in order to raise my children. I love them with all my heart and I believe they need to be nurtured in a strong family in order to brave this world themselves. Currently my family is located in Arizona for my husbands graduate school. I try to make the best of things in the hot city while I long to live in the cooler country once again.

Why I am a Mormon

I am one of the few very fortunate people to have been raised strong in the gospel. Missionaries came to my grandparents while my parents were young, and the church has been in the family ever since. Nonetheless, my parents encouraged me as a child to find religious truth for myself. I went to many different congregations with friends to see what was out there. I never quite felt the same spirit in any of these congregations as I did in my own Mormon church. To me it simply makes sense. Questions I have can be answered within the Mormon doctrines where in other religions they would talk in circles. I love the gospel. It gives me strength in my everyday life and brings such joy.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by not only going to church and fulfilling church duties, but by shining out as a child of God. Everyday while I run errands and take my daughter to activities, I run into new people. I like to show my faith by the way I interact with these strangers. I am the one who smiles at everyone in passing. I like to share the happiness I have from my faith in every large and small way possible.
