Hi I'm Elvina Ofisa

I'm a singer, an athlete, an artist, and a Polynesian dancer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in American Samoa. I currently reside in Idaho, where the best of the best potatoes are grown. I have five brothers and four sisters. I love anything that has to do with sports! I love to sing, dance, draw, and spend time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church. My parents are both converts. I choose to be a Mormon because I've found it to be the happiest way to live! "Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ" (The Family: A proclamation to the world). It's true! Two of my older siblings and I left the Island on July of 2007 in search of a better education, leaving behind the two most important people in our lives. I have not seen my parents ever since, but the things they taught in our home remain with me and it has blessed my life tremendously. Through living the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I can find peace and joy especially through the hardest and most trying moments of my life.

How I live my faith

I like to sing, so I get to sing a musical number here and there. I enjoy singing in the choir. I participate in church basketball and volleyball leagues. I try to share the gospel by living the gospel myself. My family started a Polynesian dance group in Idaho about 6 years ago. We have friends who participate in the group that do not share our beliefs, but they know who we are and they respect our standards. We keep our costumes simple and modest. I am remotely far from perfect! I falter and make mistakes, but I know that when I allow Christ to change me, I can become better.
