Hi I'm Jordan

I play guitar, sing, and write songs. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a fresh out of high school boy, preparing currently to serve a mission. I am a self-taught musician and absolutely love music. I started playing guitar about 4 years ago when I moved. I didn't have any friends after arriving in our new home and so I felt prompted to pull out a little guitar and to teach myself. I had no idea the kind of impact that would have in my life. By doing so I met the best friends in the world and started a band with them. Each of them have been examples to me and encourage me to live my faith and to stand up for what I believe in.

Why I am a Mormon

After reading the Book of Mormon as a family, my parents invited each of us kids to pray to know for ourselves if the Book of Mormon was true and to ask God if this was truly His church here upon the earth and if this was His work that I was meant to follow. So immediately I went down into my room to pray. And I didn't receive any powerful experience that I thought should be my answer that day and had only felt that I already knew. To me, I wasn't sure if I did. But I had to know, so I asked again the next day, and again the same thought that I already knew. So I went about my normal ways for quite some time. And finally, when receiving a blessing, I heard a voice, soft and yet powerful that said, "Jordan you know the Book of Mormon is true." I had then remembered many of the experiences of my life and how God had had his hand in my life. That's when I knew without a doubt that God was there and that he loves me, that he hears and answers my prayers, that the Book of Mormon is really His words to the prophets in the ancient America's, and that he continues to share His words with a living prophet today. I know. And that's why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am currently preparing to serve a mission and this has become a full time endeavor. A mission is a calling from God for us to go out into the world and to serve him by sharing the Gospel of Christ and by serving all of those we come in contact with. I have been called to go to Tahiti and am so excited for the experience. However, I will need a lot of faith in my Father in Heaven to be able to learn both languages required for this mission and to be able to help the people to the best of my abilities. So I have been praying and reading the Book of Mormon for guidance and direction because I know that God hears and answers my prayers.
