Hi I'm Owen

I'm a prospective missionary, I'm a baseball player, I'm an older brother, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 19 years old and work full-time. I have two siblings- a younger brother and a twin sister. I am not particularly musically talented, but have a lot of interest in learning to play guitar and piano. I sure would love to learn! I just need to find the time, like most other kids my age. You could call me an outdoorsman, I love doing pretty much anything outside. Running, walking, biking, swimming, camping, fishing, sight seeing, playing various sports, hiking, and much more! I will begin service in the Finland Helsinki Mission as a full-time missionary in October of 2017. I have interest in being a lawyer, a physical therapist, an athletic trainer, or possibly a seminary teacher. My life may be crazy, but it's my life, and only one thing about me is able to get me through every day. One simple fact. I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have come to know the life, light, and truthfulness of this gospel. I have seen firsthand the promises and blessings that have come to my life because of the faith and diligence I have had in my life as a result of knowing who I am. I have been blessed because of the life I lead- the every day battle I enter into, and the crazy adventure we so call "life." I also know that I have been blessed by the troubles, the trails, and the tribulations I have entered into in my life. Because in the end, once I finally come out of the storm and find the light at the end of the tunnel, I discover how much stronger I have been made because of the difficulty I have undergone- and the knowledge I have gained as a result. I am a Mormon because as a human, I appreciate knowing the truth. I believe that honesty is the best policy. And no God as powerful, divine, and wise as our loving Father in Heaven would be anything other than honest, and truthful. I am a Mormon because I have come to know through prayer and experience that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church of Heavenly Father, and his son, our Lord and Savior- Jesus Christ. I have felt the eternal glory of the divine spirit that dwells within me. I have felt the truth of this gospel in my heart, in my mind, and in my soul. And I know that through my faith and diligence in living of this gospel every day, myself, my family, and my friends will be blessed. And I hold tight to the verse of scripture found in the Book of Mormon, in Moroni; Chapter 10, verses 4-5. "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost." "And by the power of the Holy Ghost, ye may know the truth of all things."

How I live my faith

I arise every day knowing that I have a Lord and Savior who walks beside me as I live my life. I know that as I do my best to turn to him in all things, he will guide and direct my path to make sure I am always where I need to be. Perhaps not always where I WANT to be, but always where I will be able to learn and grow the most.
