Hi I'm Kaitlyn

I was born and raised in Utah. I hike, jeep and backpack. I guided rivers and I am a Mormon.

About Me

My life includes a lot of time outside. I love the outdoors in so many different capacities. I hike, backpack, and jeep with my family. After I graduated from college with my degree in Outdoor Recreation in Parks and Tourism with an Education emphasis I became a river guide and enjoyed my time on the river immensely. I come from a very large family and am ecstatic when they are able to share exciting adventures with me in the outdoors. My life is very family oriented and spending time with them is always time well spent. I love try new things, listen to music, explore new cultures, pick up new skills and learn about people. I am a certified Wilderness First Responder and want to continue my training in the medical field. I am a perpetual optimist and life with the gospel is incredibly happy!

Why I am a Mormon

The doctrine taught in the Gospel of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints is the only doctrine that brings true happiness in my life. Living the teachings in The Church bring peace in my life and allow me to have so much freedom to be, not only who I want to be but, who God wants me to be. There is so much joy and everlasting happiness in this Gospel and I love where it takes me day to day. I was born into the church but have had many opportunities to gain my very own and very personal testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel. I have talked with leaders and members of other faiths and studied different religions but have never felt the peace within those faiths that is so vividly present at the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. The Gospel is my life, it is my happiness, it is my peace and comfort and my rejuvenation in an exhausting world. I know that this Gospel is true. I know it with my heart and my mind. I know that what is taught in the Book of Mormon is true and life changing doctrine. The council given to us through leaders and prophets of the church is council that should be heeded for the opportunity and promise to draw closer to God and His son Jesus Christ. I know that God lives. He has a body of flesh and blood just like me. I know that Christ lives, that He atoned for my sins and that He loves me and all of God's children. The Gospel of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints is what brings me happiness. I live it and I love it.

How I live my faith

I was incredibly blessed to attend a high school where around 90% of the student body were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. Almost 87% of the student body participated in a class called Seminary which is the opportunity to take an empty class period and attend a Gospel class. I participated in this community a great deal by being the Seminary Council President. With the rest of the Seminary Council, we organized activities for students (i.e. ice cream socials, barbecues, etc.) and different programs for students to participate in (i.e. service challenges, scripture reading challenges and rewards, etc.) We also bore testimony of the blessings of scripture reading and the blessings of service to students in different classes. Being involved in the community and in the ward is a great blessing. I have also had the opportunity to give time to different organizations in the church and have taught, gone to meetings, and led by example. Serving in the church benefits not only those you serve but you, yourself.
