Hi I'm Bruce Lake

I am a native of Utah, grew up in Salt Lake City. I am married with 5 children, 20 grandchildren. Retired educator. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a retired educational administrator for the LDS Church Educational System. I have lived in the United States and Germany and have traveled throughout the world. I have a Doctors Degree from the University of Southern California. I enjoy reading, doing research and serving others.

Why I am a Mormon

As mentioned I have been an active member of the LDS Church all my life because I find great joy in the teachings of the Church and applying them in my life. Applying and living the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ brings meaning and joy to my life. I am grateful for the Atonement of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and his life of service as an example for me. I also derive great joy in knowing that there is a Plan of Happiness outlined by our Heavenly Father which, if followed, will allow me to live eternally with my wife and family. It teaches us that the family is the most important organization on the earth. I am grateful for the Prophet Joseph Smith for his role in restoring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth in our day and re-establishing the doctrine that God does" nothing, but he revealeth his secrets unto his servants, the prophets" (Amos 3:7). It brings great comfort and hope knowing that there is a Prophet of God on the earth today. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I was born into an LDS family and have been an active member all my life. I married an active woman whom I met when we were both 12 years old. I have served three missions for my church in Germany and one in Salt Lake City serving the needs of inner city people. I was a Mission President in Munich Germany, a regional leader and a local leader in the church. I serve in the Salt Lake Temple and work part time researching historical sites in the Church History Library. I am active in my local congregation teaching and working with the teachers of youth and adults.
