Hi I'm Wendi

I'm a native Texan. I am a librarian and a teacher, and yes, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the second oldest in a family of four children. I have a grown daughter currently serving a mission, so I'm missing her terribly. I enjoy reading, sewing, and going to the beach. I attended college in Texas, earning a Masters in Library Science. I enjoy traveling and since my daughter is now grown, I'm excited for more opportunities to volunteer in my community. I love teaching children to read.

Why I am a Mormon

I am so grateful to be a Mormon. I was raised Mormon. I'm thankful that my family can be together forever. I'm grateful for the Savior and the love He shows me. The gospel teachings have brought me closer to the Lord. I know that the Lord is the same today as He was in the old testament and that He speaks to His living prophets today. I know by following gospel teachings I increase my love for the Savior and for others. I am blessed daily by choosing to follow the gospel teachings. I'm thankful the gospel has enabled me to raised a wonderful daughter who chose to serve a mission sharing the gospel message.

How I live my faith

Living my faith is something I do daily. It's a part of who I am; it makes me who I am. I have held several callings over the years. Almost all of them have been teaching and working with the youth. Currently I serve as a visiting teacher. I enjoy visiting and teaching the sisters and getting to know them better. I try to follow the Savior's example each day by doing simple things such as smiling or letting someone in front when stuck in traffic. Those little things often bless our lives and the lives of others.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

When I look around and see all the magnificent things on the earth and the stars in the sky, I know there is a God. I know He loves us and created this world and all the things on it for us. A tree, my favorite thing, could not have appeared by accident. Rivers, streams, mountains, and the whole rest of the earth testify of our Heavenly Father's love for us. Our families testify of His love for us. We aren't here by accident. We're here because of God. Show more Show less
