Hi I'm Mackenzie

I'm Sister Mackenzie Workman, serving in the Raleigh North Carolina mission, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Born and raised in Oregon, but spent my teenage years growing up in New Mexico. I have been called to serve in the North Carolina Raleigh Mission and am so excited to go and serve! I completed my personal progress and received my young womanhood recognition, and will take that with me wherever I go from here. I've been playing the violin for about 10 years and have taught myself how to play the piano over those years as well. In high school, I ran cross country, played golf, and was apart of the orchestra, which will always stick with me. I am the middle of 5 children, so life at home is rarely dull. I have an autistic brother who I love to death, as well as my other siblings, and he is a huge part of me, I am so fortunate to have him. I am currently just working, preparing, and am loving church more than ever right now.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church my whole life. My Dad grew up in the gospel and church membership on his side of the family goes back to Joseph Smith's time in the 1800's. My Mom on the other hand, was baptized when she was 11 when her Dad decided that their family should take the missionary discussions. Her whole family was baptized then, but she is now the only active one out of all of them. I've known the gospel is true since I was able to learn about it, but relied on my family's and leader's testimonies. When I was 15 years old, during the time that I was attending a pioneer trek, I decided it was time to figure it out for myself and to gain my own, independent knowledge and testimony of the truthfulness. Ever since then, I have never not had the desire to strengthen the testimony which I have built through the Lord and I continue to strive to help it grow more. I am a Mormon because of the spirit which testifies to me that this gospel is wholeness and truth and because of my testimony that it is. I am a Mormon because of those who have gone before me and those who have led me to where I truly need to be. I know that this Gospel is true with all of my heart, and that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Everyday I strive to be the best I can and to include the gospel principles in how I live my life. I love being able to bring up the gospel in my everyday conversations with others and I strive to be a good example of what the gospel is. I love serving a mission and being able to bear testimony everyday of the truths of God and I absolutely love going to church. I know that it is important to search for opportunities to serve and to be a missionary, no matter who you know.
